Samurai, Daimyo and Shoguns were the three main people in charge of a city, these people were almost always in wars with rivals of each other

a Shogun was at the top of the three, the shogun could declare war against any one, the Shogun was a very hard position to get to because the Emporor had control of who became Shogun from the Samurai, so basically, you had to work really hard and not get kill as a Samurai to become a Shogun. Short term: War lord

a Daimyo, who was second on the ladder of three, the Daimyo had Samurai to their control and he was the leader of a town/city, he was well protected and he had a sword so he could protect himself because he was a Samurai. A Daimyo could also train Samurai when ever he wants to.

A Samurai was a warrior that had two swords, a long one and a short one, the long one was for combat (A.K.A. fighting) and the short one was for ritual scuiside (the Japanese beleaved that the heart was located in the stomach and so they cut their stomach to see if it was pure or not), a Samurai had a very strict code of honour, if someone dishonoured them they could kill him/her, and he also had to obey every thing that their Shogun or Daimyo masters told them to do, they could tell them to go to war, or stay at the town/city to protect, even comit ritual scuiside.
